About Mrs. Eads

I am in my 20th year of teaching choir at Oakdale Middle School. I love music, reading and traveling. I have been to all but 4 of the United States and over 20 countries. I love sharing my love of music with students.

I believe that studying music is important because it is a way for students to express themselves in a positive way. It is also a way for them to be creative.
I believe that every student can be successful in choir. The students will have opportunities for individual success as well as working with a team.
I believe that teaching is more than imparting facts and information. Although students need information about specific subject matter to be successful, they need life lessons taught and reinforced to succeed in the world. The life lessons that we will be working on in choir include: setting goals, accepting responsibility, collaborating with a team, having a positive attitude and learning from accomplishments as well as setbacks.

We Will Learn

In choir this year, the students will be working with the fundamentals of music that will prepare them for performance. We will work on and perform a variety of music that deals with music literacy, vocal techniques and performance etiquette. We will also explore a variety of music, including music from various cultures, historical periods and events.
