Mrs. Walter's History Class

Welcome to my 7th grade History website. Here you will be able to find information and links to my class. Students and parents should check this website occasionally for classroom updates. If you need to contact me click on the Contact Me link and send me a message. I will try to respond to you as soon as I can.

I believe meaningful learning takes place through active hands on participation through project based activities, meaningful and accountable collaboration with peers, an understanding of why the material is important and relevant to you, and how you will use the skills learned in the classroom in your adult life.

As a teacher I see myself as a facilitator for your learning, not an expert just giving you facts. I want you to be an active thinker and problem solver that makes meaning through your personal experiences in the physical and cultural environment.

"The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, rather than what to think – to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, rather than to load the memory with thoughts of other men." – Bill Beattie
